this was taken from the daily courier newspaper today, it was a look back on kelowna 25 years ago.
this is what it had to say
Second highrise planned
A second highrise apartment to match the new Kiwanis Tower may soon be needed, High Noon Kiwanis Club members say.
the 142-suite tower already had a waiting list of 80 names, club president Pete Bloom said.
He noted a recent government survey indicated 25 to 30 per cent of Kelowna residents are 65 or older. Club members predict that number could rise to 50 per cent in the near future.
"We feel the need for seniors' housing is there," Bloom said.
But despite that demand, it will likely be one or two years before ground is broken for a second tower, Bloom said.
The ministy of park, land and housing will be asked to fund construction of the second tower, with rents geared to income.

Thanks for the information Matt, but I do have to ask you one thing.
Please don't take the actual news article from the paper. That information is still copyrighted and we have not received permission to post any direct articles. You can however paraphrase the article and post it that way, without mentioning the actual papers name. I know it sounds silly, but it has to due with legal issues. Thanks buddy
