Over the next 5 years UBC-O will be spending at least 450 million dollars in construction. It will include more classrooms, a new science complex, new engineering and management schools, more student residences and a 400 seat lecture theatre. ;D
Their goal is to compact everything into a small area so that the students will not have to walk more then 10 minutes to any destination on campus.
I am glad to see that UBC is following the plans set forth by OUC back when the North Campus was originally designed back in the late 80’s and early 90’s. It was a shame that OUC was forced to cut back on the original design plans due to budget cuts in the 90’s by the Provincial government of the time.
