Hey well just though I would let everyone know the exansion at UBCO is moving very quickly. The foundation is basically done on the large add on to the Science building. I was also wondering if anyone knows what they are doing with the highway just after the CN rail bridge? There are massive catapillars plowing what appears to be an under/over pass.

Thanks for the update...wondering when the other buildings will start - it will have to soon if they want to stay on track.
Not sure about the under/over pass. Is it a large parcel they are plowing? Might be more industrial land...

Im pretty sure its for an exit somehow to get to the campus because I was checking the UBCO master plan and they have something planned like that. Ive also heard that maybe they are going to install a better bridge there but that is just rumors I really have no clue.

UBC and Hwy 97 Flyover City Council approved the Highway 97 Flyover Agreement between the City of Kelowna and the University of British Columbia; the Ministry of Transportation will also share in project costs. The Flyover will improve access to the UBCO campus and, through municipal roadway improvements, allow development of residential and commercial property in this area of the city. Construction is expected to begin early this spring and be complete before the end of 2007. ;D

Hi there, just wondering exactly what area this "flyover" will cover. I'm in the midst of buying a townhome on Celano Crescent in Glenmore & there is a huge grassy area that backs onto my unit (facing Glenmore rd) that runs all the way up towards the Dump. If they are planning on making a roadway there ,that will definitely make me look into a different area to buy in Glenmore. Could someone let me know ASAP? Thanks !!

Hi Kelli! Welcome to our forum. The fly-over you are talking about is by the HWY 97 entrance to UBCO. So that does not affect you. However, if i placed your location on google maps correctly, that piece of land is slatted for the glenmore road re-alignment ( the continuation of the Glenmore 4 lanes going north ). So that will affect you. Talk to your Realtor about that - he / she should advise you on it and if not get a new Realtor. Hope that helps!!! Feel free to come back any time... Cheers... edit: just did a quick mock up with google maps...here is the link to my map to better help you visualize it. movekelownaforward.com/Common/Photos/NorthGlenmore-UBCO-Roads.jpg

:)Hi John, thanks for your reply. I actually found out about that new road by talking to someone from the city, thank-goodness !! I have another question in regards to another road project though. What's the route for the Central Okanagan Multi-Modal Corridor form Spall to McCurdy? Where exactly on McCurdy will it connect ? Thanks !
