i cannot forsee anything good coming from this 'party'. Their hardline anti-growth position, and reckless disregard for the fact that kelownas economy is not purely based on tourism anymore, would surely send this city into economic decline. Think about all the jobs to be lost due to an underactive construction industry. The spinoff would cause suffering to local manufacturers, contractors, materials suppliers etc, etc, etc, the list goes on and on and on. Business would be highly discouraged to move into kelowna. Businesses will move away, siting a poor economic environment.... unless you sell ice cream. All this just the tip of the iceberg of obvious oversights in their big scheme to stop kelowna from prospering. And all this could be a possibility if even one of those candidates makes council. Im sure that just that one single negative voice could really cause some damage.

Very Very TRUE Jared! They are a joke - they just don't get it...they love to live in the past. Be sure to tell everyone what you just wrote here. And be sure to enlighten people of John Zegers, Rick Shea, and Andrews past behaviour with anyone that does not agree with them. Just based on that one has to ask the quesiton "Would I really want someone like that to represent this city!?!?!" The answer is very clear on that "NO!".

I can honestly say John that i am completely outspoken to everyone i know on my opinion of ASK, as well as any other like-minded individuals or groups. Its honestly scary to think that this group has any support at all in the community. Pretty much all of whom are so uninformed and uneducated on the subject, but just jump on the bandwagon becasue they are afraid of any change, and overlook all the potential consequences.

Anyone had a chance to peruse the new ASK platform. Something that looks like it took those clowns about 5 minutes to jot down and puke out to the media just to give the image that they are about so much more than just trying to turn Kelowna into what they PERSONALLY want it to be. I cannot believe the selfishness of this riff raff gang of wannabes.

Looks like there is already a problem within the ranks of ASK. Andy Thomsen submits a letter on castanet and signs it “Andy Thomsen, Candidate for Councillor in the November civic election”
Now I ask you, if you were running on a party slate would you not be proud and want to promote yourself with the party name.

both he and Rick posted editorials in the news today in response to Tony's letter, and both of them refered to themselves simply as candidates, rather than as a part of ASK
