Aqua Announced in Kelowna, BC
Kelowna
The Mission Group announces it has successfully entered into an agreement to purchase from Concert Properties a 6.75 acre parcel of land with 398 ft. of Lake Okanagan waterfront to fulfill its vision for Aqua, a new resort destination. The property is located with Hotel Eldorado and the
Municipal boat launch/parking to the north, Mission Creek to the South and
Lakeshore Road to the East.
As its name suggests, Aqua is all about water. A spectacular lakeside setting,
stunning views, top-of-the-line amenities, and refined architecture define the
planned waterfront resort that will sit at the heart of British Columbia's
picturesque Okanagan Valley.
Aqua's builder, the award-winning Mission Group, has purchased a prime
waterfront Kelowna property and is planning to construct a master planned
resort community offering a variety of housing options which will cater to
both full time residents and resort vacationers.
"This future community," says Jonathan Friesen, Chairman of The Mission
Group "will offer an extraordinary living environment and will be situated in the
most desirable lakefront location in Western Canada. Aqua will be our
opportunity to create a resort setting that will raise the bar to a level
previously unknown in our part of the world. Very rarely is a builder given a
chance to work with a site so spectacular! Our commitment is to create a
residential resort community, which will stand completely unique and
timelessly spectacular. Our work with the City of Kelowna has already
begun. We look forward to involving the greater community as our proposed
plans for Aqua begin to take shape." The Mission Group plans to seek public
consultation through a series of open houses as the resort is designed and
refined.
The Mission Group is the developer of Mission Shores, completed in 2003 also
located along the sandy shoreline of the Mission district. Mission Shores is
widely regarded as the most beautiful waterfront resort community in
Kelowna. "Our commitment to the area runs deep" says Friesen. "With the
excellent team of staff members and consultants we have assembled, we are
on solid ground to fulfill and exceed the expectations of stakeholders."
The Mission Group is the 2007 recipient of many prestigious Canadian Home
Builders annual housing awards, including the "Building Company of the Year"
and the "Outstanding Customer Service" award.
In Aqua, planned for 2009, Lake Okanagan will be the focal point for
design. "Every project needs a theme and ours is water," says Cheryl Fraser,
VP of Marketing & Sales. "The lake is the inspiration for the architecture,
multiple pool amenities, water features in the entry courtyards, and lagoons
which meander throughout the resort. Our owners will be encircled by an
experience of discovery and magic in a way that only water and waterfront
property can deliver."
Stretching along a chain of lakes from British Columbia all the way south to
the Washington state line, the historic Okanagan Valley is famous for the
exceptional weather and the quality of its year-round tourism experiences. At
its centre, the winding Lake Okanagan, which draws thousands of visitors to
its shores every year, provides a breathtaking backdrop to the vineyards,
orchards, golf courses, ski hills, and scores of other amenities and
recreational opportunities that make Kelowna one of North America's top
resort destinations.
"We understand that our customers' need for their individual resort
experience, is what will form the vision for Aqua," Mrs. Fraser points
out. "We believe that an offering such as Aqua must connect with our
customers on both a logical and emotional level."
