A brand new 21 storey tower is proposed right beside/behind, depending on which way you look at it, the madison building. It's proposed at the corner of St. Paul Street and Doyle Ave. Here's some info: 21 Storey High Rise Building / 3 Stories of Above Ground Parking & 18 Stories of Residential. 218 Condos. Approximately 3600 Sq Ft of Commercial at Grad.

Haha, yeah well... I know I didn't have to show you all where all these proposals are but I thought... what the heck... These are all such amazing projects. I should show people who don't know, where they are. Man, I really really hope that this new project goes through. It might have a hard time being approved, because isn't there a like 16 floor height limit in that area? Like, that's why the lofts and madison are those heights, because they couldn't go any higher... Who knows, the council has been approving practically everything, so i'm sure it'll be approved.

Regarding the madison the city would have preferred the building go higher ( council that is ) because it is such a beautiful building but the lot size prevented that. Higher would have meant more parking requirements and it was tight with the current height.
Since the new proposal is a larger lot size the higher height is doable.
With the lofts tower - it went through council before the major push for higher density. But I would suspect the same problem applies. Remember the parking garage has to be above ground due to the soil ( and economics of underground parking in that area ).

There. I fixed it. It's not a picture of the tower if that's what you were hoping Dan. I just made a map of where it would be located. The ICON and westin towers aren't even going up anymore, just so you know...

I was looking forward to a rendering.. ah well. Any new news on Lawsons Landing? I have seen reports from 28-33 stories for the tallest tower, do we know what the slated height to be is, and does the development have it's own site other than what is on Westcorps? As far as I can see, Icon has been cancelled and the lands have be joined with the Waterscapes development (which includes the 26-storey Skye), and that a 22-storey Westin was still approved. www.westinkelowna.com/Emporis.com is still posting an approved Westin. Thanks for the map! Cheers

Yeah, the guys managing the kelowna part of emporis don't know what they're doing. I tried applying for an editor and photographer for the kelowna section of emporis but I didn't get enough votes. I think they thought i was too young. BS... Why should it matter. i would do a better job than whoever is doing it now. The westin is 20 stories... and I think its cancelled.
