The Paper is reporting today that two 14 stories building that are being proposed for the Bargain Store maybe in jeopardy because of the wet facility being proposed for downtown just down the street from the bargain store property.

I've never even heard about these proposels. That would be amazing if those towers went through.... I sure hope its still a possibility.

Ya, me neither. That would be great. Although I do support some sort of facility the downtown area is not where it belongs as we are just now beginning to see the negative ramifications in terms of downtown revival. It would set us back by at least 5 years - something we DON'T need.

There has always been rumours of that area being redeveloped. It used to be the Woolworth store and when it closed was the first time I heard that it was gonna be redeveloped in condo's. That would have been in the mid 80's. But I think the riots may have put that on hold on the development at that time.
I really hope the owners dont back out. That would be another great place to rebuld into a mix use commercial and residential area.
